Tech certifications are one of the first things most HRs look at when reviewing job applications. Even if the company doesn’t really require them.
Certifications are a great way to see what skills does each candidate have. And they are also a way to boost interest of potential candidates to your organizations if you can help them with the needed trainings.
Of course, there are also critics who say vendors want to make it as easy as possible to gain certifications for people. This way they raise the popularity of their products. One can reply that some certifications are more “real” than others. It’s a debate that will go on for ages. Two things are sure, though.
Tech certifications matter
First, HRs and companies will always continue to pay attention to what certifications you have. Second, love them or hate them, they show a person has spend time to learn something about the given platform. In the age of the digital skills gap, this is important.
Here comes the IT Skills and Certifications Pay IndexTM (ITSCPI). For the past 17 years it has tracked a total of 893 certified and noncertified IT and business skills. It covers 3018 employers and more than 258 848 IT professionals in 44 industries. It also track the extra pay 70 725 US and Canadian IT professionals receive for these skills.
So, based on that, ITSCPI has announced the 25 fastest growing tech certifications for the past six months ending on January 1, 2017. All of them net between 20% and 50% growth in value. Most of them tie, so there are 8 real positions and a total of 25 skills. Here they are:
