Many entrepreneurs start their companies on a moonshot goal. At least the most successful ones. But others are afraid to do so and prefer to focus their companies on more “realistic” grounds. This is not the Exponential Entrepreneurship way.

It’s OK to think big. In fact, if you want to achieve true success having a moonshot goal is a must. “When Paul Allen and I started Microsoft over 30 years ago, we had big dreams about software”, says Bill Gates to the Telegraph. “We had dreams about the impact it could have. Google is also built on the idea of having moonshot goals. The company takes that approach to everything it does. It wants to create a billion-dollar business from every new idea. A business that changes lives and makes an actual difference even if it’s something as simple as a toothbrush.

Elon Musk is another big name in tech who often sets ambitious moonshot-like goals. Granted, not all of them seem to succeed all the time, but that’s par for the course in entrepreneurship.

Having such a mindset can be of a great benefit to anyone, especially an entrepreneur. And contrary, to popular belief, it’s not impossible to foster it. There’s a way to the Exponential Entrepreneurship.

What is Exponential Entrepreneurship?

Being an entrepreneur today is vastly different from 20 or even 10 years ago. Today’s world is different, as are the goals and challenges. It’s no longer that difficult to find investors and funding for your idea. Actually, it’s probably easier than ever by a huge margin.

The real challenge is to create a sustainable, scalable and growing company out of that idea. Today there are so many different ideas, companies and startups, you might not even be able to fathom. Peter Diamandis is s the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Singularity University. He’s also the Executive Chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation. In 2014 Fortune Magazine named him one of “The World’s 50 Greatest Leaders”. He is also one of the forerunners in creating exponential entrepreneurs.
